Exploring Vegan: Journey through USA’s Natural Parks

Snow Canyon State Park


Ironically, Snow Canyon State Park is not actually covered in snow. It is situated by the Mojave Desert. The name is based on Erastus Snow and Lorenzo Snow, two leaders who lived in Utah, USA.

The canyon consists of Navajo sandstones, showing off its burnt orange color, and oftentimes white, which emphasizes its beauty. Not only that, but there are also other land formations such as:

  • Sand dunes

  • Lava Tubes

  • Lava Flows

  • Extinct Cinder Zones

Snow Canyon State Park is also home of the different species of animals:

  • Coyote

  • Peregrine Falcons

  • Utah Banded Gecko

  • Gila Monsters

  • Desert Tortoises

Despite the hot weather, Snow Canyon State Park also have plants that thrive well in the desert and provide a breathtaking view:

  • Cactus

  • Creosote Buch

  • Sagebrush

  • Yucca

  • Scrub Oaks

Zion National Park


Zion National Park is another natural park in the list. It is also in Utah, USA, and it shows off impressive geography, landscape, and wildlife that is both memorable and mesmerizing.

Depending on the season, you can witness Zion National Park in the winter as a snow-covered area, in spring as an enchanting sight with cliff walls showing the snow melting away, in summer as a park filled with wildflowers, and in autumn that provides a calming atmosphere thanks to its orange colors.

What also stands out in this 200-million year old park are its deep red canyons, mesas, monoliths, natural arches, towering cliffs, and its 8-layered sandstones.

Zion National Park offers an abundant type of landscapes such as:

  • Wet riparian habitats

  • Coniferous forests

  • Sunny desert

  • Woodlands

Not to mention, you can find numerous wildlife in the park-like:

  • Reptiles: 32 species

  • Mammals: 75 species (including 19 species of Bats)

  • Birds: 289 species
